Our monthly meeting is conducted every second Tuesday of the month at the Temperance Hall Ruritan Club, located at 3597 Temperance Hall rd. Elm City. Newcomers are always welcome. Annual dues are $25.00 per member and $40.00 per family due in January. Those members that are 75 years of age may join for free.

Membership includes:

1.Entry into the finds of the month.

2.Perfect Attendance Award given to individuals who never missed a club meeting.

3.Recognition at club meeting for members returning lost item to rightful owner along with receiving a certificate of accomplishment.

4.loads of fun, making new friends and saving history.

Finds of the month: Items found with a metal detector or researching a site for historic items between the prior month meeting and current month meeting. If a member missed a meeting and wishes to contribute their find for the upcoming meeting on approval from the President, their item will be eligible to be placed for voting in the finds of the month category. Items recovered from a paid hunt may be displayed but are not eligible for points. Award points will be given for 1st ,2nd, and 3rd place for each category. There are seven categories.

Coins: American and Foreign

Buttons: American and Foreign, metal, natural material or glass (no plastic)

Tokens: From anywhere

Jewelry: Items normally worn as jewelry with non-historical significance.

Youth: Any item recovered by a youth 16 years or younger.

Recovered and Returned item: This is when a member is requested in helping find a lost memento.

Miscellaneous: Metallic items of historic or non-historic nature which do not fit above categories, along with non-metallic items while perusing our hobby and quest for saving history. Items such as Native American artifacts, Bottles, Fossils etc.

Certificates and or Trophy's: Will be awarded in December for each category.

Treasure Hunter of the Year: The member with the highest overall point total.

There will be a limit of one certificate/trophy per person.
